How do I reboot my VPS?

There are 3 ways you can reboot your VPS without contacting our support staff.

  • You can reboot your VPS from within the OS itself (sudo reboot or sudo shutdown -r now)

  • You can reboot your VPS from your Portal account

    • Click on your VPS service from the "My Services" screen or the Dashboard.
    • Under "Virtual Machine Detail", find the "Action" buttons

      • Click Shutdown and wait approximately 60 seconds
      • Click Boot and wait approximately 60 seconds for your VPS to boot
    • If your VPS does not come back up, repeat the procedure but this time select Power Off

    • If your VPS still does not come back up, you may manage your VPS using out-of-band management and proceed to fix what is preventing it from coming back up.

Please note it is your responsibility to repair any broken configuration within your VPS.

  • You can reboot your VPS from the SSH-based management console

    • Use the same procedure as described above for the Portal, but instead use the console menu
